Flood risk management contract award

29.08.2013

McPhillips is pleased to have been awarded the £1.7m Corwen Flood Risk Management Scheme by Denbighshire County Council. This project is for improvements to the existing Nant Cawrddu watercourse and reservoir wall and spillway, construction of new open channels and culvert replacement downstream of the Nant Y Pigyn watercourse which crosses the town and outfalls into the River Dee which will involve 110m tunnelling and pipejacking 1500mm pipes under the A5 trunk road.

McPhillips has already worked closely with Denbighshire County Council and fluvial engineers Martin Wright Associates in the delivery of Phases 1A, 2 and 3 of the Denbigh and Corwen Flood Risk Management Framework with the aim of reducing the risk of flooding for some of the most at-risk communities in Wales.
