Shortwood Primary visits site

On 9th June 2015 McPhillips and the Wrekin Housing Trust were pleased to host 80 pupils and teachers from the Shortwood Primary School in Wellington at our Oakwood Extracare site on Holyhead Road. The school children came armed with sketch pads and pencils at the ready to capture the scene for their art project with the theme ‘the house that Jack built’. The visitors were treated to a demonstration of equipment in action from the tower crane and forklift and were guided around the site by SHEQ Manager Stuart Bishop and Site Agent David Franklin. McPhillips was pleased to receive a positive response from the youngsters and is hopeful that the trip may have gone a small way to inspiring future construction careers!

The pupils will now be producing artwork designs which McPhillips and Wrekin Housing Trust will use to decorate the site hoarding and we look forward to their return to inspect the finished product.
