Growth Point highway packages completed

McPhillips has recently completed Telford & Wrekin Council's Growth Point Package traffic island improvement schemes at three strategic locations on Telford's road network.

The concurrent works at Limekiln Island, Shawbirch Island and Clocktower Island had a combined value of £3.7m and have been designed to increase highway capacity and reduce congestion thereby supporting new employment and residential developments within the Borough.

Additional lanes have been created on the island approaches and on the islands themselves which entailed removal of existing splitter islands and existing surfacing, kerb realignments, new drainage and surfacing.  Associated activities under McPhillips' management included service diversions, drainage, signage, street lighting, traffic signals, barriers, fencing, road markings and landscaping.
