Client: Birmingham City Council

Value: £320,000

Programme: 15 weeks

Completion Date: December 2012

McPhillips delivered a route enhancement scheme for Birmingham City Council working on primary highways in the City including the A38 Queensway and A4540. This £320,000 scheme involved lane widening in Paradise Circus, removal of existing road markings, application of over 60,000m of red route road markings and installation of new signage during the 15 week contract period.

Traffic Management and reducing disruption were primary considerations and all activities were undertaken at night to reduce disruption to the travelling public with working hours restricted to 7pm - 7am Sunday - Thursday. Static and mobile traffic management was used and all works were removed to make way for the Birmingham Half Marathon in October.
