Denbigh Flood Risk Framework Phase 1A

Client: Denbighshire County Council

Value: £382,000

Programme: 11 weeks

Completion Date: July 2010

This eleven week scheme represented the first project undertaken by McPhillips on the Denbigh & Corwen Flood Risk Management Framework with Denbighshire County Council.

The works were designed to address issues associated with the tributary to Henllan Brook in the lower Denbigh area and was undertaken under an NEC Opt C contract. The scheme involved improvements to the existing drainage system through construction of new manholes and culverts involving pipejacking under the A543 Ruthin Road and construction of a reinforced concrete inlet structure. Pipes ranged between 750mm and 900mm diameter and ran across the Denbigh High School playing fields, works were carried out during the School’s summer break to minimise disruption.
