McPhillips have just completed this new build fire station complete with state-of-the-art rescue training facilities for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service on a brownfield site off the A451 Stourport Road in Kidderminster.
The new two storey 1706m2 GIFA main building has five fire appliance bays, residential and leisure facilities for fire service personnel along with administrative office space for the co-located police officers and Severn Area Rescue Association volunteer lifeboat personnel and equipment.
There is also an external single storey 3-bay garage area of 231m2 and a two storey hot training building of 251m2 with realistic burn rooms.
Externally the 11,715m2 concrete yard and parking has a water pit for training water rescue teams and an area equipped with street furniture and lighting columns for crashed vehicle extraction training.
A S278 scheme was constructed to the front to provide highway access for appliances on emergency response and the rear of the site now has a 190m long 6m wide tarmac access road for non-emergency vehicles.
