Following on from the West Midlands regional award win McPhillips’ £9m Jackfield Stabilisation project has been nominated as the region’s entry for the Institution of Civil Engineer’s People’s Choice Award 2017 along with 11 other regional finalists and we would appreciate your support for the scheme in the online voting https://www.ice.org.uk/what-is-civil-engineering/what-do-civil-engineers-do/jackfield-stabilisation
This project in the Ironbridge Gorge is a locally important hillside stabilisation scheme constructed by McPhillips and designed by Jacobs for Telford & Wrekin Council. It involved piling a large hillside to hold back the raw forces of nature, something that is always a major challenge to civil engineers and something to be proud of for all the people involved in the design, construction, and supervision.
