Some Real Positives To Take Into 2023
Life at McPhillips in 2022 has been full on. As we pause for a well-deserved Christmas break, there have been a number of highlights over the past 12 months…
Securing new opportunities within the wastewater sector has been particularly pleasing. In addition to current works on the M42 at junction 6, we are due to start other water projects in Derbyshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. We hope to make further inroads in this sector in 2023.
Our inclusion in the Black Country Framework For Minor Works has seen us complete works at Streetly Crematorium and we are shortly to commence with a public realm project in Brierley Hill. We look forward to building further on this framework in 2023.
2023 will also see us continue to build our credentials in the housebuilding sector with the ongoing developments secured during 2022 at Ifton Heath and Ellesmere. This is an exciting extension to our portfolio of work.
It’s always rewarding when our work is recognised. We were delighted to receive the CECA Midlands Region commended award in the Project of the Year £1-3M category for our work on the Shrewsbury Town Centre Modernisation Works. McPhillips were the principal contractor for the modernisation package of work for Shrewsbury’s historic town centre public realm enhancements.
Our apprenticeship programme goes from strength to strength. This year we welcomed Luke and Charlie to our team following their successful completion of our scheme. The next intake of apprentices joined us in September and we are delighted with their progress so far.
We work hard to ensure our working practices have a positive influence on the environment. In line with this commitment, we have recently installed solar panels on our plant shop roof at HQ, which we hope will provide 26674 KWh per annum. It will be interesting to see how this performs in 2023.
On behalf of myself, the Board of Directors and everyone at McPhillips we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
