McPhillips has been selected by Cornovii Developments to deliver an exciting new homes project near Oswestry.
The partnership will see the demolition of Ifton Heath Primary School at St Martins, which closed in 2014, and the construction of 35 timber framed homes on the brownfield site known as Overton Road.
Cornovii Developments Ltd, Shropshire Council’s wholly owned homebuilding company, is behind the £5.8m million development which will consist of a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes including detached and semi-detached houses and bungalows.
McPhillips’ Project Director Stuart Mackenzie, said: “This is an exciting project and a great opportunity to expand our already expansive portfolio of work. Working locally in partnerships with local developers, professionals, subcontractors and suppliers is a positive position for us all.”
Harpreet Rayet, Managing Director of Cornovii Developments added: “We are delighted to be working with McPhillips to deliver these homes which will include 13 affordable properties. McPhillips is a local contractor and has great experience working with our values of supporting the local economy and local supply chain.”
Overton Road provides local people the opportunity to get onto the property ladder. All properties are built to achieve 31% higher energy efficiency standards than average new build properties and benefit from solar panels and have increased insulation.
The project is set for completion in autumn 2023 and forms part of Shropshire Council’s house building programme to deliver 1,000 new homes in the county by 2025.
