We’re delighted to announce a groundbreaking new project that we are working on with our friends at Chester Zoo.
We have been working together on a very special project – a safari-style luxury lodge resort – which will open next year. Featuring 51 holiday lodges and hospitality buildings, the resort is designed to provide an up-close, immersive overnight wildlife experience, where every stay contributes to the conservation of some of the world’s most threatened species.
We are the main contractor leading the project, working alongside local developer Starship who are building the lodges. We’ve already cleared the site and are preparing for the next phase – building the base areas for each lodge, including drainage and infrastructure.
In addition, we are also constructing a two-storey welcome building, which will include a restaurant and bar area. We are also installing new roads and footpaths.
McPhillips Contracts Director Andrew Dunham commented: “We’re currently working closely with the team at Chester to deliver the ‘Heart of Africa’ experience. I’m pleased the zoo has chosen to work with us to create the next phase – its safari-style luxury lodge resort. This is testament to our excellent working relationship, allied to our expertise in managing entire building projects which prioritise the needs of the incredible animals they’ll be home to”.
