The 1km spine road McPhillips has been constructing to provide access to the Weir Hill site in Shrewsbury for Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes has been largely completed.
These access works for Phase 1 and 2 of the residential development also included a new junction off London Road under a Section 278 agreement with Shropshire Council.
Construction of the new road involved three months of cutting, filling, shaping & modelling over 100,000 tonnes of soil, laying and compacting 15,900 tonnes of quarried stone, laying 2,743 kerbs and surfacing with 3,700 tonnes of tarmac laid continuously over three weeks by McPhillips’ in-house surfacing resources using our paving machine.
